Best of my wedding photography
Selecting the best wedding photographs of the year can be quite misleading. What can be an excellent and an award winning image in eyes of world wedding photographers, is not necessarily the most treasured image for the couple. In fact, more and more often I see that brides and grooms yearn to have great group pictures with family and friends.
Enjoyable group portraits
Preston’s instructions for his vision was “I want it all to be super relaxed, but all our wedding guests to be captured looking gorgeous. I can be quite particular about things, but I don’t want anything to look posed”.
The reality is that the spirit and the vision of the wedding is best to be captured in great documentary shots. Genuine emotional outbursts of happiness, silly dance moves, yawning children during speeches – these wedding sparks will light up your memories of the day.
But the two things which will be shared and printed and put on the mantel piece are the favourite wedding portrait and a picture of the couple with their loved ones.
My job is to make that group shot exciting, artistic, happy and honest.
One more thing I want to mention. I adore the beautiful line of a feminine form. My bridal boudoir was a very popular with brides. But somehow in the chaos of bridal preparations, we lost a precious few minutes. So not too many bridal boudoir shots this or past year, but I am going to change it.
New Year Resolution
Next year will see more of beautiful bridal boudoir. And more creative and ENJOYABLE group portraits.
So there, below are some of my personal favourites from the wonderful weddings which took me around Europe. I am grateful and honoured to have witnessed your most emotional, happy and life changing day. It was fabulous! Thank you xxx
